The books can also be accessed at home, facilitating collaboration with families.
Hearing the story in their home language supports comprehension and enhances learning from book reading.
For Parents
Young children love hearing the same story many times, which helps them learn new vocabulary.
Kids can read SAYL books on their own, but it might be helpful to read the stories together once or twice before they read them independently.
We recommend starting with the story in the most familiar language, which may differ from the language used at school or in child care.
